Wearing a red-and-black costume that completely covers him from head-to-toe, Alexander under the Major X alias, traveled to the past in search of Cable with the hope he can help save his reality from fading away.
He gains a power level similar to his Nate Grey counterpart from The Age of Apocalypse reality and tries to use them to force the people of the world to live in peace.
Using his powers at this magnitude also means that he will die due to the vast power being too much for his body to continuously maintain.
They turn the tide of the battle on Cable by enlisting the aid of the Silver Surfer. Cable and the Silver Surfer battled, destroying buildings and other structures but were immediately rebuilt by Cable's vast telekinesis.
All the while Cable tried to explain his good intentions to the Surfer with no avail. Although Cable destroyed his board and briefly held his own against the Surfer, he was ultimately defeated when the Surfer destroyed Cable's arm.
This series was canceled at the fiftieth issue and was replaced by two series starring each of the characters.
It is revealed that Cable survived, and has the mutant baby girl that the X-Men, Marauders , and Purifiers have been seeking during the Messiah Complex storyline.

The death was shown in X-Force 28 written by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost , who noted that, "For us, Cable was always a character whose death was something the character himself would put forward—if that's what it took to complete his mission, he wouldn't think twice about it.
The miniseries served as a lead-in to the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline beginning in April Having been teleported to the future during his last act, Cable learned from his old mentor, Blaquesmith, that Hope will apparently die in some future accident caused by the Avengers , prompting him to go back in time and try to use his last 24 hours of life before the techno-organic virus completely consumes his body to stop the Avengers before they can kill Hope.
Although he manages to defeat Captain America , Falcon , and Iron Man , he is caught off-guard when he is attacked by the Red Hulk , initially assuming that the Red Hulk is "Talbot", a foe from the future, before the Red Hulk informs him with grim satisfaction that he is actually someone who Cable has never fought before.
The Avengers then proceeded to fight Cable until he was nearly dead from both the fight and the virus, and Cyclops asked to take his son home, with Captain America insisting the Avengers keep the weapons and ship.
Back at Utopia, Blaquesmith helps Hope to realize that she can still save Cable, and she begins to absorb the techno-organic virus before fully manifesting the Phoenix Force raptor for the first time around herself.
When it vanishes, Cable is cured not only of the advanced incursion of the virus, but apparently fully, as his left hand is shown to be fully organic along with his left eye, but he remains in a catatonic state.
Afterwards, Cable and Cyclops speak telepathically, with Cable informing his father that Hope is indeed the Phoenix and is destined to save Earth from an unknown disaster.
He goes on to say that a war will come with the Avengers and that he needs Cyclops to protect Hope. Cable promises to be there when he's needed in the future.
The series debuted in December and features Cable and a new fugitive team, unofficially referred to by the Marvel Universe media as the new "X-Force".
After the events of "Avengers X-Sanction" Cable is forced to wear an eye patch and an advanced harness for his non-functioning left arm that was created by Forge.
Nemesis, Fantomex , Marrow and new recruit MeMe in order to track down and deal with mutant threats using lethal force. The effects on the timeline causes Cable to revert to his original "status quo", with his robotic arm and his original telekinesis and telepathic power set.
Cable is seen in the year dealing with some unidentified issue related to Stryfe, in the aftermath of an Inhuman attack that covers the city of Boston in sentient plant life led by the Shredded Man.
Belle eventually joins the rest of the Uncanny Avengers helping Synapse in the present and helps deal with the Inhuman causing the problems, before deciding to join the team when he learns the team's true mission is dealing with the Red Skull with Professor Xavier's brain and powers.
In this series, Cable is depicted as a member of an organization that protects the Marvel universe timeline from damage caused by time travel.
When the young Iceman is attacked by an unknown assailant, Cable arrives to save him. However, Cable is attacked by the unknown assailant who tells him that he failed his duty to protect time, then shoots Cable, murdering him.
It is revealed that Cable's killer is a younger version of him dubbed Kid Cable , who has arrived in the present to capture the five time-displaced X-Men since their presence in the current time period will in bring forth a catastrophic future.
Kid Cable kidnaps Mimic then arrives at the X-Mansion and incapacitates young Angel and Beast but is only able to leave with the former.
When he is confronted by the young Jean Grey and former members of X-Force Domino, Warpath, and Boom-Boom , he clarifies that he is indeed the younger version of the Cable they knew and he murdered and reveals that the reason he's been kidnapping the time-displaced X-Men is because he intends to return them all to the past, something that his older self never did, hence why he killed him.
His reasoning for this is because Ahab will kill one of the young X-Men Cable says that it's young Iceman he kills but clarifies that it does not matter which one dies, as long as it's one of the five in the present, thus greatly changing huge parts of their future battles they won are now lost, humans turn against Mutants much sooner, an earlier and stronger version of the Sentinel Program and Reaver Virus arise which in turn damns mutantkind and brings an earlier and deadlier end to the X-Men.
As such, Kid Cable saw fit to kidnap them all so he can personally return them back to their past even kidnapping Mimic so he would remove his wings and attach them to young Angel, since the latter did not have cosmic fire wings in the past.
After the young X-Men have returned to the past - with Jean suppressing their memories of the future until they 'catch up' with the present - it is revealed that Kid Cable is the younger version of Cable, until he caused their timelines to diverge when he brought Cyclops back to life, through a complex plan involving capturing a fragment of the Phoenix Force to restore him.
By the time Bishop woke up, Sugar Man was dead with his body split in two. When the event was soon afterwards revealed to be the return of Nate Grey who had his mind twisted when he found and used the Life Seed on himself which not only made him recover his powers but also increased them to the point of overriding the black x-shaped tattoo which was protecting him.
Kid Cable keeps Cyclops in his base for a time, admitting that he just tweaked history in this manner because he did not wanted his father dead, but when faced with the separate threats of the X-Men battling Nate Grey and a human scientist whose life was saved by Cyclops in the past was now being threatened by his insane former professor, Kid Cable tells Cyclops he can save one or the other, with Cyclops' choice of the scientist sparing him the apparent destruction of the other X-Men and giving Scott the incentive to re-examine his actions prior to his death.
Kid Cable has since replaced his older version by remaining in the present and joined the mutant nation of Krakoa when it was founded.
He attended a family barbecue, where he traded guns with Raza of the Starjammers. When Kwannon formed a team to investigate the new threat of Apoth and the Overclock drug, she enlisted the aid of X and Cable.
Despite some hostility from the local lifeforms, in part due to Cable handing one a grenade as a gift, which it then activated, the situation was resolved.
While investigating an Apoth location in Brazil, Cable was captured by Apoth's servants, who saw Cable as the symbolic unity between man, machine, and mutant.
Cable was born with telepathic and telekinetic abilities. However, the extent to which he has been able to utilize these powers has varied dramatically throughout his appearances.
Originally, both were limited by his need to restrain his techno-organic infection, and his powers were negligible compared to his more traditional fighting skills.

Cable has fought Wolverine to a stalemate, [57] and defeated Captain America in hand-to-hand combat and defeated Falcon, Red Hulk and Iron Man using both brute force and wit, all while Cable was in severe pain and hours away from dying of his techno-organic infection.
When Professor Xavier's son Legion travels back in time to kill Magneto in the "Legion Quest" storyline, Beast notes that Cable possesses "latent time-travel abilities".
With the assistance of Shi'ar technology, Professor Xavier "jump-starts" this ability while Jean Grey telekinetically holds Cable's body together, allowing Cable to send his consciousness into the past.
His techno-organic body parts possess enhanced strength and durability, and his techno-organic left eye gives him enhanced eyesight, allowing him to see farther than a normal human and in the infrared spectrum.
He is also able to interface his techno-organic body parts with other types of machinery, an ability that allows him to hack into computers, open electronic locks , and travel through time.
In the "Messiah War" storyline, during the fight with his clone, Stryfe, Cable demonstrates the ability to hide others from Stryfe's mental view, implying that at least he retains some of his telepathic powers.
He also still possesses some of his telekinesis, but he is using it solely to keep the techno-organic virus in his body at bay.
As of the end of the "Avengers: X-Sanction" storyline, Hope Summer has apparently cured Cable of the techno-organic virus using the Phoenix Force, and appears to at least have his telepathy.
After being afflicted by a derivative of the super soldier formula begotten from an alternate reality. Cable was left incapacitated as the faulty chemical weapons test would cause his physiology to self-destruct if left unchecked.

While still shrunken, Deadpool is informed by Sandi and Outlaw that Agent X was captured by Hydra while he was fighting Hydra, a terrorist organization, to steal a "morphogenic actuator", which can be used to cure or cause diseases.
It is then found that the actuator has been used to give Agent X morbid obesity by scientists experimenting with the actuator, and that it can not be removed by the actuator.
Deadpool then forces the scientists to turn him back to his normal size "They had some Pym Particles lying around. Figured they must.
Who doesn't, right? However, they forgot to get Weasel. During the journey home, Agent X levels with Deadpool, asking him if he could take over Agency X Agent X's company of hireling mercenaries while he deals with his weight problem.
However, T-Ray has returned and captured Sandi and Outlaw, using them in his plan to kill Deadpool and Agent X for stealing his identity.
Deadpool succeeds in killing T-Ray with his katana. Deadpool then recounts how Cable healed him of his insanity and that T-Ray and Deadpool had shared memories and that Deadpool spotted many holes in his story.
However, Rogue has already defeated Hecatomb by absorbing the 8 billion people's minds it absorbed. Sabretooth attacks the building where Irene Merryweather and the Black Box are.
Domino heads for the building to rescue them as Cable heads for the Power Core. Domino gets to the building to discover that Sabretooth has killed Black Box and is holding Irene hostage by using her as a human shield.
Deadpool, who has parachuted from the Angency X jet, shoots Sabretooth and Irene manages to roll away. Domino takes Irene to the evacuation boats.
Deadpool then proceeds to shoot Sabretooth repeatedly, stating that he knows he's running out of bullets, but he wonders if there will be anything left of Sabretooth for his healing factor to heal, just as he runs out bullets.
Domino gets Irene to the evacuation boats as Cable joins them after he added just enough energy to the island to "finish the job. As Domino leaves, Cable wonders how many promises he's broken.
Cable goes to help Deadpool get rid of Sabretooth by hurling him out to the middle of the ocean. Cable then sends Deadpool to obtain secrets about the future in the form of a mini statue of Anton Krutch that could be dangerous if in the wrong hands.
Cable heads for the Core, where he is attacked by Gambit and Sunfire. Meanwhile, Deadpool succeeds in locating the statue, but is attacked by Senyaka, former Acolyte.
As Cable makes a run for the Core, Deadpool continues to fight Senyaka for the mini statue. Cable makes it to the Core and activates the self-destruct system as Deadpool finally gets his hands on the mini statue, which turns out to be a teleport matrix.
Gambit and Sunfire escape as Providence explodes. Deadpool is teleported to his apartment where Deadpool claims he wasn't worth it and that he won't let Cable down.
In "Alone Again, Naturally" , after meeting Cyclops at a memorial statue of Cable, Deadpool goes to the Hydra base to finally save Weasel because if he doesn't, Wolverine will kill him and everyone else in the base.
He almost succeeds but after trying to reason with Wolverine, Deadpool is decapitated. However Bob finally proves his worth by placing Deadpool's head back on his shoulders while Wolverine deals with the offending Hydra agents.
Deadpool, Weasel, and Bob leave the Hydra base after Weasel's sabotage imprisons the remaining Hydra soldiers; however, the same device malfunctions as they head home, teleporting Deadpool and Bob to World War II Germany.
Having found themselves alongside Captain America and a foul-mouthed Bucky , Deadpool and Bob join in on the fight against the Nazis.
All goes well but due to 'temporal hiccups', Captain America and Bucky seem to repeatedly forget who Deadpool and Bob are.
The group heads off to find Doctor Zola and do battle with a Frankenstein Monster of his, but seem to be trapped in the past. Meanwhile, in the present time, Weasel has convinced the Fantastic Four to let him use their time machine, pointing out how bad an idea it is to have Deadpool and a rogue Hydra agent remain lost in time.
He is unsuccessful however, and the Fantastic Four offer to help bring Deadpool home instead. Using the technology provided by the Fantastic Four of the present day Weasel managed to pull Deadpool and Bob to the Baxter Building although at an earlier point in time where he meets the older iteration of the Fantastic Four although appearing through Doctor Doom 's time platform doesn't help matters, also with the 'temporal hiccups' still in effect the team gets quite confused about why there is a HYDRA agent at their breakfast table.
Eventually they agree to help Deadpool return to the future, although complications mean he and Bob end up falling further and further into the time-stream until they are rescued at the last minute by both time periods versions of the Fantastic Four.
After being dismissed from the Baxter Building for his mercenary lifestyle although Sandi and Outlaw, who also work for Agency X are invited to stay for poker Deadpool, Bob and Weasel return to the Agency X offices.
Here they find Doctor Strange who has come to recruit Deadpool to save the multiverse from a problem he apparently created. Unfortunately for Deadpool this involves finding T-Ray's body, so he and Bob sent to fight their way through various mystical realms by Dr.
Strange to search for it. Upon finding T-Ray, Dr Strange reveals that at the moment Deadpool killed him he had used his black magic to try to escape through a 'mystical burrow', this sent him tumbling through various magical planes leaving the barriers between frayed.
Deadpool had been sent to collect the portions of life essence he left in each realm, which he now has to use to restore T-Ray to life. After replacing the life essence, Dr Strange informs Deadpool and Bob that although T-Ray's body is complete, his soul is still missing.
He then sends them to the Louisiana swamps where they meet Brother Voodoo , who arranges for Deadpool to confront T-Ray's soul and try to restore it to his body.
After an antagonistic encounter, Deadpool succeeds and, as both had to be kept alive, they somewhat amicably part ways.
Deadpool is later contacted by Irene Merryweather who asks him to retrieve an "electro-polarity reconfiguration engine" left over in the Savage Land by Magneto to help power Rumekistan since Cable 's death.
After being attacked by a mind-controlled Ka-Zar and eventually freeing him, Deadpool, Weasel and Bob discover Brainchild has taken over.
After Deadpool breaks in and finds the "reconfigurator" Weasel and Bob teleport to him. Brainchild then sends an army of dinosaurs to attack them which Deadpool teleports to Genosha using Weasels pene-traitor technology.
After Deadpool shoots down Brainchild's escape dinosaur Ka-zar agrees to let him take the "reconfigurator". Weasel than points out that Deadpool sent the dinosaurs not to Genosha but the Genoshan embassy in New York City where they break open a van which the Mighty Avengers and Fantastic Four were using to transport the Venom symbiote, this quickly combines with the dinosaurs leaving an army of venomsaurs loose in Manhattan.
Deadpool then returns to New York to fight the venomsaurs. Agent X even gets in on the action, and Bob manages to bring down one of the bigger venomsaurs, regaining the respect of his wife, who saw it on TV.
After much fighting, Deadpool is eventually knocked far away from the action. Cable from the future manages to send a psimitar, which can destroy the symbionts on the dinosaurs.
Deadpool takes on the last venomsaur, and almost gets absorbed by the symbiote. However, Deadpool stabs himself in the head with the psimitar, and is released from the grip of the symbiote.
Deadpool awakes to find out from the Avengers that the dinosaurs have been returned to the jungle thanks to Weasel.
It all ends with Deadpool back at his apartment watching TV. Deadpool had been blamed for the incident by the media on TV.

After the young X-Men have returned to the past - with Jean suppressing their memories of the future until they 'catch up' with the present - it is revealed that Kid Cable is the younger version of Cable, until he caused their timelines to diverge when he brought Cyclops back to life, through a complex plan involving capturing a fragment of the Phoenix Force to restore him.
